What it means

A TikTok slideshow format. The first slide shows a flattering photo the poster claims is them; each following slide undoes an edit to reveal more of the real, less impressive picture, and the last slide simply says "I'm so sorry" for lying. Popular versions use embarrassing childhood Halloween costume photos.

Origin

Per Know Your Meme, one of the earliest known versions was posted by TikToker @theywanthunter on August 22, 2026 and passed 25.6 million views in two months. The trend was further popularized in October 2026, when many versions used childhood Halloween costume photos.
