What it means

A reaction image of a snow leopard, edited with AI to have the wide eyes and face of a famous cat, captioned "*paws at you*" followed by a request or punchline. It reads as a cute, needy nudge, often an invitation to hop online and play a game, and is nicknamed "Snowmei."

People also repeat the line many times, redraw the leopard as other characters, and brands such as the Epic Games Store have posted their own versions.

Origin

According to Know Your Meme, the base photo shows a snow leopard named Himmel at the Ishikawa Zoo in Nomi, Japan, shared on X by @black03_white03 in May 2024. In October 2026 it was edited with AI to give the leopard the face of Tole Tole Cat (Mei Mei), a cat that went viral in 2023. The caption borrows the older roleplay-style action "*paws at you*."

Know Your Meme dates the earliest known post of the edited image to October 23, 2026 (@harvest_skies on X). It spread over the next week on X, Instagram, TikTok and Reddit; one October 24 post by @dogwife333 simply repeats "*paws at you* hi."
