Heidi 32GB RAM meme: what it means and where it came from
What it means
This is the long-running "Heidi pushes Clara over a cliff" comic format applied to the 2026 RAM shortage. In the first panel one character asks "Do you have a PC at home?" and the other answers "Yes, with 32 GB RAM." In the second panel the RAM owner goes over the cliff.
The joke is that owning a well-equipped home PC has become selfish (the post is titled "Don't be selfish"), riffing on Sam Altman's remark about DRAM in personal computers.
Origin
According to Know Your Meme, the template comes from the 1974 anime series Heidi, Girl of the Alps. The cliff scene never happens in the show: it is a photoshop that appeared online as early as 2009, and two-panel comic versions with speech bubbles spread from Spanish-language meme pages around 2015.
This RAM version was posted to r/memes by u/Odysseus1710 on November 1, 2026 and reached #3 on the subreddit's top posts of the day.
